Class Schedule - Summer 2010
To sign up for a class you can call 316-652-9599 or come in to Hen Feathers to register and pay for the class. Space is limited so don’t wait too long!
Class Policy:
-Pre-registration and payment are required for all classes. By signing up for classes, you are agreeing to abide by class policy.
-We work hard to keep class sizes small so each student gets plenty of help. We also work to keep classes and their supplies affordable for everyone. In return we must have your payment to reserve your spot.
-Any cancellation must be at least 7 days prior to the class with the refund in the form of store credit.
-Please do not bring guests or children to class.
-Please arrive in time to set and be prepared for instruction at the listed start time.
-In case of inclement weather, call ahead to make sure the class will be held.
-Classes require knowledge of sewing machine and use of rotary cutters unless specified.
KIDS CLASSES (ages 10-14)
Make your own pillowcase: June 7th & 8th (Monday & Tuesday) 10-12 am
$30 includes class and 1 pillowcase kit
Kids will learn an easy way to make a pillowcase and will complete one in class.
Smart Bag: June 28th & 29th (Monday & Tuesday) 10-12 am
$34 includes class, pattern & fabric for 1 bag.
This little bag can be used as a purse or tote bag & kids love it. It will be completed in class.
Beginner quilting- Tuesdays, June 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29th 6-8pm
$60 + pattern & supplies
In this class we start with the very basics and make a 9 patch quilt top then learn how to machine quilt it and bind. A great class to get you started.
Tube quilt- Wednesdays, June 2 & 9th 6-8 pm
$24 + pattern & supplies
This is an easy quilt made of squares, but you will learn how to make it from strips and use a simple technique to make a design from the colors. This technique can then be used to make more intricate designs.
Cube purse: June 14th & 21st (Mondays) 6-8 pm
$24 plus pattern & supplies
This is a tote bag that can be used for a multitude of purposes. From a purse or diaper bag to a knitting bag or lunch bag this is so versatile it makes a great gift. It will be taught by Jen Eskridge, the designer of the pattern.
Exploding star: July 6th & 13th (Tuesdays) 6-8 pm
$24 + pattern & supplies
Easy, yet dramatic is the only way to describe this stunning quilt. You can make it any size you like just by changing the size of the squares you start with.
Poinsettia wall hanging: Wednesdays July 7th & 14th, 6-8 pm
$24 + pattern & supplies
Create this beautiful wall hanging using fusible appliqué. It is very pretty and very simple. Get started on Christmas now!
Baileys Quilt: Mondays, July 12th, 19th, and 26th- 6-8 pm
$36 plus pattern & supplies
Putting blocks on point quickly turns an ordinary quilt into something special. This class will teach you how. You can make it any size from throw to king.
Drunkard’s path: Tuesdays, July 20th & 27th 6-8pm
$24 plus supplies
Learn curved piecing while making this time honored design. Make it with small prints for a traditional look or make it out of batiks for a more contemporary design. It really isn’t hard- try it.
Machine Quilting Saturday, July 31st 1-4 pm
$36 + supplies
Learn how to quilt your quilts on a regular sewing machine. It does not take a fancy machine to do this, any straight stitch machine in good working order will do. We will focus mainly on teaching you how to free motion quilt so you can finish up that pile of unfinished quilt tops!
